1st Tooth & More!

Friday we went to the softball playoff game in Waco. The girls played hard but just didn't come out on top. We "attempted" to get a group picture of all the coaches kids together...not so easy to get all of their attentions. etc. Mayci was intrigued by her shoes...here are the ones that were taken with Windee's camera...
On Sunday, May 2nd, I attempted, well was successful at putting Mayci's hair in a rubber band...it stayed as well until I took it down, kind of hard to see, she kept grabbing my phone...
On Tuesday, May 4th I noticed Mayci's gums looked a little different and sure enough when I ran my finger her bottom gums I could feel the starting of a tooth. That girl has been working hard for a tooth for a long time, it is Thursday now and progress really hasn't been made. As soon as it is "visible" I will take pictures and post. She has been wonderful through it so far, I have to say there isn't much that slows her down or causes her to be any different.

I painted Mayci's toenails for the 1st time on Tuesday also...it was interesting. She was awake...busy playing with the remote...once she realized what I was doing she tried grabbing the bottle. Lets just say they are not professional quality but hey, they have some color on them...
Mayci wakes up every morning with a smile, she is the happiest baby. Casey is just amazed that she wakes up in such a great mood, whether she wakes up on her own or we have to wake her up.

She has started getting up on her knees a little, still not real enthused about crawling, I guess she will when she is ready. She loves to feed herself, I bought some of the Gerber graduates snacks and she thinks she is big time, sweet potato things and yogurt melts. I tried them...not too bad.

Had some bowel problems yesterday...lets just leave it at the fact that I had to use a suppository to "take care" of things. Mrs. Yolanda texted me this morning and said she was doing great so whew...glad Mommy took care of it yesterday. I have to admit, getting to go home an hour and a half early was kind of nice!

Bluebonnet Pictures

So of course it is a Texas thing to take pictures in the Bluebonnets...Mayci is fascinated with them...she isn't quite sure what they are so she just stares at them and sometimes touches them. Here are some of the pictures I took on Friday, April 9th of Mayci and some with Sydney, her 5 year old cousin.

Mayci's 1st Easter!

We went to Stephenville for Easter this year. Mayci wore a white dress with lilac polka dots on it...decked out with a bow/bonnet and ruffle socks of course. The Easter Bunny was good to her, we took her to Walgreens on Saturday and had her picture taken, she did GREAT...wanted to eat the bunny's hand! Sunday was nice, had a good church service, took pictures in the Bluebonnets and then had a wonderfully yummy lunch and just enjoyed time with family and friends.

I have to say, having a holiday on a Sunday is hard...especially on MONDAY! Mayci is changing every day...she is finding her voice...we are pretty sure she is saying "Dada"...doesn't do it on command but when she gets fired up and jabbering, that is what we are making of it all.  She weighs 15lbs 8oz and is 25.5" long. Here are some pics from Easter...

6 Months!

I took this picture at Mom's house after church on February 21st.

So Mayci turned 6 months yesterday! I can't believe it...where has the time gone? She was scheduled for her shots but had started showing some signs of sickness on Tuesday and sure enough...she has a sinus infection as well as a slight ear infection. So she couldn't get her shots therefore she will be having to go back in a couple of weeks to have a checkup and if she is healthy she will get them then. She weighed in at 14lbs 14oz and was 25 in long...yes she is GROWING!
Mayci is sitting up pretty well on her own, she likes to roll over, especially when I put her on her tummy. She can go to town in her jumper now, almost tall enough that I can remove the photo album under her feet.

Eating baby food has been an adventure...she definitely likes certain veggies over others...going to start trying the others again and see if she does better with them now that she has gotten the hang of eating from the spoon. I got her some Mum Mums from Wal-Mart-they are a type of rice cake that dissolves in her mouth...she likes them because she can hold on to them and eat them like a big girl. We are working on the whole sippy cup thing...she isn't real fond. I have purchased several different ones...she doesn't do better with one than the other...pretty much just bangs them on her high chair tray.

Talking...I think she is close to saying "dada"...Casey sure hopes so...of course I want her to say "mama" first but I know that most babies say "dada" first so I am prepared for that.
Spring Break was nice...not really a break but that is okay. We started it off by going to Wichita Falls to support the TSU men's bball team in the regional tourny. They won the first but lost the second. After the tourny we came home for a few days and then went to Mabank to visit Tysha and Nicholas. We had a great time with them...can't wait till this summer and we can go back. (they live on the lake)

I will try to do better about posting more often...until next time...here are some pics I have taken with my phone...Mayci LOVES lemons and limes...no sour faces at all!

Sick Baby

So on Friday, February 26th, Mayci was diagnosed with RSV. We caught it soon enough that she didn't have to have breathing treatments or meds thank goodness. Unfortunately she has a horrible cough, runny nose, watery eyes, common cold symptoms. She is such a good baby because she hasn't been extra fussy or anything abnormal, still all smiles! The main thing the doctor told us was to keep her nose sucked out and keep her hydrated so that is what we are doing. Since I used all of my days for maternity leave, Casey is having to stay home with her...he says it is "Daddy Day Care". He just sent me a video of her jumping, I will try and upload it as well as new pics. I will post later...hopefully she will be better!
