Mayci in the Shower

2 years, 4 months, 12 days old:  Mayci has all of a sudden decided that she will take a shower, with Momma of course. I am so thankful, it sure cuts down on time!  She's doing really well with it, says it is raining on her head!

My Bday (29...)

Mayci had Nonna take her to the store and pick out my presents.  She got me bubbles, a Minnie Mouse book, a necklace/bracelet combo, party hats, cupcakes and balloons.  She was so proud!  Even tried to tell Nonna that she was going to drive her car(yellow camaro) on the road to the store herself!

WOW!!

So time definitely flies when you are having F-U-N! A lot has happened since June 2010 and I haven't blogged about it! Lets see if I can TRY and play catchup!

July 2010-Casey applied, interviewed, was offered and took a new job teaching Texas History and coaching 7th grade football at Stephenville Junior High as well as coaching the Freshmen boys basketball team at the high school. This was on a Tuesday...we had till Friday to find me a job and resign at Temple to be able to get let out of our contracts! Wednesday morning I was checking the job board and saw a posting for a Technology Teacher at Peaster High School. Long story short, I got the job so we headed to Temple to resign and start packing to move to Stephenville...in with my mom and step-dad. We knew we wanted to buy so we immediately started house hunting!

August 2010-The start of something new for all of us. I had to adjust to driving 1 hour one-way to work...not easy! We had to find someone to keep Mayci and well Casey was teaching something new. We were lucky to find Granny TX (mother of a friend) to keep Mayci during the day when my mom wasn't keeping her. Time was of the essence, especially since Mayci's 1st birthday was fastly approaching! She was starting to walk on her own, a few steps at a time!

September 2010-Mayci turns 1!!! We had a princess party at Tarleton, all of our family and friends were in attendance. Casey cooked hamburgers and hotdogs, had cake, presents, the works, it was wonderful!! Still house hunting!! About a week before her party she was walking pretty well...the week of her party-nothing!!

October 2010-Mayci finally started walking everywhere! Not sure why everyone pushes for babies to walk...way more work to have to chase after! Halloween was interesting-Mayci was a princess(had to reuse bday stuff). She wasn't real crazy about people being dressed up but the candy, that's another story! Football was in full swing, Mayci and I tried to make all of Casey's games, Grammy (Casey's mom) would come too and help cheer on the Jackets!

November 2010-Still house hunting...finally found THE ONE! People had always said, you will just know...so true!

December 2010-MOVING DAY! We were able to close on the house on the 2nd and started moving the next weekend. It was so amazing...nice to have a place for everything. As soon as we got things sort of situated, I had to decorate for Christmas! We loved every minute of having our first Christmas in our new house! My dad and Irene came to visit, brought Mayci her birthday presents and Christmas...not sure that Santa was going to bring her anything-she got SO much! Christmas was so fun since Mayci was older and got the whole unwrapping presents thing. Santa brought her a playhouse and many other wonderful things.

January 2011-Mayci was learning something new every day, it is so awesome to see the "light-bulb" go off. Casey and I went on our first date in 15 months on the 8th, without Mayci that is. Kyler and Aunt Windee came to visit on the 15th. The Athletic Training Students were attending the Tarleton workshop so Kyler came and hung out for the day. It was so cute to watch Mayci and Kyler-they never missed a beat, just like old times. Rush turned one this month, he had a party at the gym with bounce houses, mats, etc. It was lots of fun, Mayci was WILD!

February 2011-Birthdays come whether you are ready or not, I turned the big 28 this year, Casey and Mayci got me a pandora bracelet and the family took me to eat at Pastafina. I was actually off of work...we had 5 days off due to snow/ice! It was so nice to be home with Mayci and Casey(he didn't have as many days off though). Mayci LOVES to be outside, even with the SNOW. I would spend 15 minutes getting her bundled up for me to only be able to stand being out there like 5 minutes. It was pretty though! Colbie Grace Lusso was born on February 4th to Tysha and Nicholas, she is absolutely perfect!

March 2011-On the 4th, Mayci learned how to say "apple". She loves apples and it is so helpful for her to be able to tell us that is what she wants. Casey's birthday month! We didn't even get to spend his birthday with him-he went to the State basketball tournament in Austin. Mayci and I went to his parents and then he came on Saturday (the start of spring break). We spent a few days there with his family and then went back home and did some serious work on the house in the flower beds. Of course mom is the green thumb so she came and directed us.

June 2010

So I just realized we have been so busy that I haven't posted at all this whole month so here is JUNE!
School finished up the first week, we went to watch Sydney's dance recital that Saturday. Mayci loved all of the music, and Sydney did great! The entire recital was very good, the costumes were so stinking cute! That next week I had a conference to go to in Waco for two days which meant Casey had Mayci. Everything went ok...Mayci was a little needy; think the separation anxiety was setting in. On Friday, June 11th we headed to Lafayette, LA to see my great aunt and cousins. Mayci did great on the trip. My mom went with us so she and Mayci had a blast in the back seat together. We had a wonderful visit...we also took Mayci to the zoo for the first time. She didn't quite understand it at first then she caught on during the train ride when she could see some animals up close and not thru a cage. After LA we went on to Brookhaven, MS to see my dad as well as the rest of our entire family. We visited, bought fireworks, went and ate at the casino...yep, Mayci has been to the boat when she was merely 8.5 months old! She got to drive the golf cart which she thought was cool and we even did a little fishing, I caught the biggest and the most fish! We headed back to TX on father's day...Mayci and I had Casey a driver and putter made and since they were in Stephenville, instead of going home to Temple, we went there so he could get them.

Once we finally made it back home boy were the pups excited! They had stayed with my in laws which they love because they get to run in the pasture as well as stay inside during the day which doesn't happen at our house when we aren't home. We were only home a couple of days before we headed back to Stephenville so Casey could play in a golf tournament and so Mayci and I could go with mom to a wedding in San Antonio. It was beautiful, Mayci did great at her first wedding. We stayed the night there, which was Mayci's 1st time staying in a hotel, she kept staring at Nonna like "Why is your bed right by ours". It was cute. The next day we hit the outlets in San Marcos, met up the The Hailes and then mom dropped us off with Casey in Star so that we could go to a family reunion the next day.
She went for her 9 month well check on the 24th, weighed 17.6 lbs and was 26.6 in long. NO SHOTS :)!!!

Mayci is army crawling everywhere, she will not pick her belly up. She now will get on all fours but then collapses when she decides to actually "go". She now has 3 bottom teeth and definitely working on MORE, just hope to get some top soon, although she eats just fine. She is "talking" up a storm. Has figured out how to fake laugh, cough, do them on command, mock you, etc. It is so funny, I just love it! Here are pictures from our adventures of the month of June, sorry this was such a long post, I will try to do better than once a month!

Football, Baseball, Baseball & More Baseball

Last Friday, May 21st our sitter was closed so Casey stayed home with Mayci, I took a half day and we went to Stephenville. Their football scrimmage was that night, these are some pictures of Nonna, Granpa & Mayci "hanging out".After the scrimmage we went back to Nonna & Granpa's for hot dogs, Chris, Mattie, Rush & Lonna also came over. Here are some interesting pictures of the kiddos. Oh, Davin was in town also...Davin is in Texas for the summer because he is playing in a wood bat league in Rockwall. On Saturday he had his first game but that morning he tried out at Tarleton for the baseball team! Here are some pictures from tryouts and from the game... Saturday was a late night...driving back to Stephenville from Dallas but we made it. Mayci was such a trooper...she had a LONG day of baseball. On Sunday we drove to Arlington and went to the Rangers vs. Cubs game. It was the first Rangers game that Casey and I have gone to together and so of course the first for Mayci. It was a one o'clock game so it was HOT! We had great seats but because of it not being covered, mom took Mayci and they went and sat in an air conditioned room and watched the game, pretty sure Mayci slept. The Rangers lost 5-4...BOO but it was fun. Here are some pictures of The Hamilton's in their "Hamilton" shirts...

1st Mother's Day Weekend

We went to Stephenville for Mother's Day Weekend. It was wonderful as usual. Mayci and Rush had a great time! Nonna & Granpa bought Mayci & Rush a jumperoo from Wal-Mart...what an experience that was! It was so cute, Mayci is a pro at jumping but Rush had never been in it so when we put him in there, Mayci was trying to "teach" him how to jump. Nonna & Granpa also bought Mayci and Rush a little plastic swimming pool...we filled it up, put it in the sun hoping the water would get warm...it wasn't too bad, I put Mayci in...then Nonna warmed water on the stove and dumped it in...needless to say Mayci had her own personal "hot" tub.Casey & Mayci bought me a mother's ring from James Avery with Mayci's birthstone, the blue sapphire, it is perfect, I love it so much! We all got dressed up and went to church, the service was wonderful. After church Granpa grilled ribs and pork chops and Nonna made potato salad, beans, salad and I think that was all. It was yummy, Mayci LOVED the potato salad. It was a great weekend, the BEST Mother's Day EVER!!!
